2025 CHK Research Forum
Call for Papers
The UP College of Human Kinetics (CHK) invites faculty, researchers, students, alumni, practitioners, and partners—both from UP and non-UP institutions—to submit abstracts for the 2025 CHK Research Forum.
The forum aims to highlight emerging and established research and creative work in human movement science and allied fields, contributing to the development of sport, physical activity, and well-being in the Philippines and beyond.
Submissions may include basic or applied research, interdisciplinary studies, or practice-based insights relevant to the forum theme and CHK’s research agenda.

1. Performance Enhancement and Athlete Well-Being
Athletic training, sport analytics, and performance strategies
Mental health, psychosocial support, and academic balance for athletes
Injury prevention and recovery science

2. Physical Activity and Health Promotion
Physical literacy, active lifestyles, and healthy aging
Community-based wellness programs
Sedentary behavior and health-related quality of life

3. Sports and Physical Activity Policy and Governance

Abstract Submission Guidelines
Title: Keep it clear and concise (avoid acronyms)
Abstract Text (Max 300 words):
Structure using Background / Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions
Do not include tables, figures, graphs, or references
Use standard font (e.g. Times New Roman, 12 pt); minimize abbreviations
Proofread carefully for spelling and grammar
Author/s Details: Name, affiliation, contact email.
Keywords: Up to 3–6 words/phrases to categorize your topic
Oral Presentation Guidelines
Time Limit:
15 minutes for presentation
3-5 minutes for Q&A
Format:
Use PowerPoint or PDF format
Bring your file on a USB drive (backup on email or cloud is recommended)
Use clear fonts, simple visuals, and concise bullet points
Content:
Title Slide – Include your name, title, and affiliation
Introduction – Brief background and research question
Methods – How the research was done
Results – Key findings (use charts/graphs if needed)
Conclusion – Summary and key takeaways
Acknowledgments – Thank contributors, if any
Poster Presentation Guidelines
Poster Size:
A1 size (594 x 841 mm), portrait orientation
Design Tips:
Use large, readable fonts (at least 24 pt)
Use clear headings and organize by sections:

Conclusion
References / Acknowledgments
Display:
Posters must be mounted before the session starts
Be ready to stand by your poster to explain and answer questions
Bring your own materials (e.g., push pins, tape)
